A little history :

In 1906, the extension of the Quai de Queyries towards Lormont was named after Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza (1852-1905). Born Italian, but naturalised French, and renowned for his humanity and generosity, this explorer led expeditions to Africa from 1875 to 1897, particularly in what was to become the French Congo (Brazzaville).
