A little bit of History:
"In 1383, the Chartreux de Vauvlaire in Périgord, expelled from their monasteries by the war, found refuge in Bordeaux. They set up at the North of the city, out of the walls, near the Garonne. Their name gascon de chartros still remains comitted to the Chartrons district"

" We were within walking distance of everything, and Karen and Artaud were great hosts. We got a synopsis of things to see and do, and their recommendation of Bordovino was a great pick for us. The apartment was spacious and bright, with the pictures not doing it justice, especially with the views over the Garonne. We had two cruise ships moor right outside our door, and we were steps from the metro, although we walked everywhere, including Gare St Jean on our departure. One comment- perhaps some different art on the walls. With so much beautiful architecture in Bordeaux, so prints of those historic buildings might be in order "

My husband, son and I very much enjoyed our few days in this apartment. It's a lovely light filled space situated right on the river Garonne in the very attractive Chartrons district with its old wine merchant houses and eclectic shops along with great cafes and restaurants. We were lucky to have amazing weather for our stay and loved watching the world go by outside while dining . There is a wonderful tram system with a stop directly outside the door of the
apartment. There is a supermarket nearby and a tram stop directly outside the front door. We found the trams a very good way of seeing the city and they are cheap to use. We used the city bikes also and would recommend these highly as Bordeaux is quite flat so ideal for exploring by bike. This is a city apartment so on a fri/sat night there will be chatter and music from a lively bar/ restaurant nearby but the bedrooms are at the back so a good nights sleep is still possible. A very enjoyable stay in this lovely apartment . We loved Bordeaux and especially this atmospheric And historic Chartrons area and can't wait to make a return visit.
